Harry The Piano
Crazy Coqs Cabaret, W1F 7ED , [Venue Details]Go-to improviser for the BBC and Classic FM, Harry the Piano returns for the twelfth year running to London’s premier cabaret venue in his new show ‘You Couldn’t Make It Up’, where he challenges the audience to throw any tune in any style at him.
Slow Horses à la Strictly Ballroom? Corrie as a Tango? Vader’s March by Rachmaninov? Do your worst!
After decades as a musical impressionist, Harry has been lauded by Classic FM as ‘one of the worlds’ great improvisers’ and his extraordinary talent has taken him worldwide with solo cabaret shows in the Albert Hall London, the Moulin Rouge Paris, Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, Manasterly Palace Cairo and was the first pianist asked to perform to the famous Oxford Union debating chamber.
This led to private audiences for both HM King Charles III at Buckingham Palace and her late majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Sandringham.
Pianist and band-leader on Channel 4’s Big Breakfast TV show for five years, he went on to be musical director on primetime BBC TV shows for three years and is currently a regular on The Now Show on Radio 4, Friday Night is Music Night on Radio 2, and the go-to improvisor for In Tune and many other shows on Radio 3.
During Lockdown, Harry put out a daily musical distress signal, which eventually ran to 300 tunes and was described as ‘miraculous creativity’ by Classic FM and ‘astounding, regularly made me cry’ by The Times.
